Best Supplements For Heart Damage

The sound of the healthy heart beating.

Lub Dub. Lub Dub. Lub Dub.

Babies hear their mother’s heart beating while in the womb, and find it reassuring when they are placed in her arms in the moments after birth.

Lub Dub. Lub Dub. Lub Dub.

Old married couples listen for the beating of their partner’s heart just before dropping off to sleep, and the hearts of young lovers quicken when they are in each other’s arms.

Lubdub lubdub lubdub!

The human heart is a remarkable thing. It continues working without a rest for all the years of our life. In fact, the beating heart is almost a definition of life- if the heart stops, we cease to be.

But the heart is so steady and so dependable that we tend to forget about it until something goes wrong. Sadly, by then it is almost too late. It is only natural to want to try and do all that we can to improve heart health, especially after surviving a “cardiac event”, but the time to begin tending to the heart is while it is still healthy.

Usually, the best things we can do for our heart involves lifestyle changes. The very first and most important is to stop smoking. If you are not a smoker, then congratulations on making a healthy choice. If you do smoke, you have heard enough warnings that you will probably ignore mine as well.

If you are willing to make lifestyle changes, or if you have already begun to, you may be curious about supplements for heart health. Most supplements are at least harmless, and quite a few are quite beneficial, although there are some that may be dangerous, or harmful in certain situations.

When you begin researching supplements, find all the information you can. It is important is to take what you read in advertisements, or even on supplement bottles, with a grain of salt. I guess the same is true about blog posts on supplement sites. Remember that their job is to get you to buy supplements, so look to more authoritative sources of information.

A few supplements that are worth your investigation include Omega 3 Fish Oil supplements, Vitamin B, and CoQ10. There are many proven and theoretical benefits to these supplements, as well as others. The best place to turn for authoritative advice may be your personal physician. DO NOT start a supplement therapy after a cardiac event unless you are advised to do so by your doctor.

The B vitamins are important to the reduction of homocysteine, an amino acid which has been linked to heart disease at elevated levels. At this time the American Heart Association does not recommend Vitamin B supplements for heart therapy, citing a lack of conclusive evidence.

Coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin like substance which occurs throughout the body, especially in the cells of the vital internal organs. Preliminary research indicates that CoQ10 may help to reduce blood pressure, and in some cases may help prescription medication to be more effective. However, there is a possibility of any supplement interfering with medication, so be sure to act under a physician’s advice.

The fatty acid Omega 3, found in the oils contained in the meat of dark fleshed fish, is thought to have beneficial anti-inflammatory properties. These oils can be consumed by eating salmon, trout, mackerel, tuna, sardines, mullet or anchovies, or they are available in supplements. Be sure to check with your doctor about dosing levels of Omega 3. Taking too much Omega 3 may reduce the blood’s ability to clot and may interfere with the immune system.

If you decide that the use of supplements will be of benefit to you, we hope that you will look closer at the high purity, pharmaceutical grade supplements from BioSynergy.
