Vitamin D is normally obtained from the diet or produced by the skin from the ultraviolet energy of the sun. However, it is not abundant in food. As more people avoid sun exposure in the summer & then are exposed to less sun in the winter, Vitamin D supplementation becomes even more necessary to ensure that your body receives an adequate supply.

Consider taking this product in combination with BioSynergy BioEndurance, CoQ10 Ubiquinol, and Daily Multi.
Note: For those who do not eat a big breakfast, it is suggested that you take vitamin D with your largest meal of the day. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrient and does not absorb well on an empty stomach or with a small meal.
In a recent study conducted at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Bone Clinic, when test subjects took vitamin D with the largest meal of the day, there was a 56.7% increase in serum blood levels of vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D) after two to three months compared to when the same people took vitamin D on an empty stomach or with a light meal.
Other nutrients that should be taken with the heaviest meal of the day include fish oil, lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin, gamma tocopherol and astaxanthin.
Vitamin D is one of the most important vitamin supplements you can use. It carries with it many proven health benefits.

Vitamin D Rejuvenates Aging Eyes in Lab Study

Stay Limber With Vitamin D
In a study by Denise Houston, Ph. D,RD, of Wake Forest School of Medicine, 70 to 79 year-olds with the highest vit D levels were the least likely to have trouble walking and stair-climbing. Vitamin D repairs muscle, maintaining the lower body strength needed for those activities.
Review Finds Need for Increased Vitamin D
In a review published in Experimental Biology and Medicine, implementation of a global policy to improve the amount of vitamin D people receive is recommended. “Responsible medicine demands that worldwide vitamin D nutritional guidelines reflect current scientific knowledge about vitamin D’s spectrum of activities.” Wrote Dr. Anthony Norman of the University of California, Riverside and Dr. Roger Bouillon.
The current US recommended daily intake of vitamin D is 200 I.U. for individuals up to the age of 50, 400 I.U. for those 51 to 70, and 600 I.U. for those over the age of 70. An increase to 2,000 I.U. of vitamin daily, which could reduce the incidence of a number of diseases is suggested by Dr. Norman and Dr. Bouillon. “It is high time that worldwide vitamin D nutritional policy, now at a crossroads, reflects current scientific knowledge about vitamin D’s many benefits and develops a sound vision of the future,” Dr. Norman observed.
